PESHAWAR: A teenage boy killed himself and his sister over a minor dispute with family in Gulberg area here late on Monday night, police said.

An official at the Gulberg police station told Dawn that 16-year-old Hasnian infuriated over a family member’s reprimand over excessive use of mobile phone tried to take his life with a pistol.

He said Hamama, his 18-year-old sister, tried to snatch pistol from his brother, but he managed to fire a single shot during the scuffle, which killed both of them.

The police official said that they had recovered single pistol empty from the scene and neighbours also claimed hearing a single shot from the house.
