PESHAWAR: Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited North Waziristan district on Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the army chief was briefed on the security situation, border management, progress in development works and rehabilitation of TDPs (temporarily displaced persons) in the district.

Expressing his satisfaction, Gen Bajwa issued directives for continued focus on stability operations and socio-economic development so as to achieve enduring peace.

During his interaction with troops, he commended officers and men for their courage, dedication and spirit of sacrifice and said that “we shall never allow the reign of terror to return”. The army chief said it was time for Waziristan and other new districts to flourish and progress.
