Iqbal Day holiday

Published September 30, 2018

ALLAMA Iqbal’s birth anniversary on Nov 9 used to be celebrated with fervour and it used to be a public holiday. The previous government abolished the event in 2015. This is a great national tragedy.

The day is still celebrated as an army contingent salutes Iqbal and a change of guard ceremony takes place at his mausoleum. The previous government abolished this public holiday.

I appeal to the prime minister to restore public holiday on Nov 9.
