Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) district president Farooq Khan was on Monday shot dead in front of his house in Ziada, Swabi.

According to Ziada police officials, unidentified gunmen targeted Farooq Khan in front of his house .

Police further said that Farooq Khan was taken to the hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.

Ziada police also said that a first information report (FIR) was not registered as Farooq's family had sought time for consultation.

Ziada police station SHO Khalid Iqbal told DawnNewsTV that Farooq Khan's murder seemed to be the result of personal enmity rather than a case of target killing.

Iqbal added that once the family decides to pursue legal action, an FIR will be lodged in the case.
