MULTAN: Multan pool rounds of the 14th DAWN In Education Spelling Bee Competition begin on Wednesday (today) at the Multan Arts Council auditorium.

It is the largest school event in Pakistan organised under the DAWN in Education program, the first and only Newspaper in Education program in the country till date. This year approximately 1,000 of the most competitive schools from across Pakistan will be participating in this engaging competition.

More than 250 students from 36 schools across different cities of Southern Punjab including Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Fazilpur, Hasilpur, Rajanpur, Khanpur, Liaquatpur, Sadiqabad and Jhang are participating in the two-day Multan Pool Rounds, scheduled to be held on Oct 3 and 4.

The competition will be conducted in three age groups, namely 9-11 years, 12-14 years and 15-17 years. Three students from each group will qualify to participate in the Lahore Regional Championship which will be held on Oct 20 in Lahore.

This competition is being organised by the DAWN Media Group and the judges are provided by the Oxford University Press.
