CHITRAL: Member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council Abdul Wali Khan has expressed his gratitude to Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar for taking action over some issues in Chitral that had been pointed out to him during his private visit to the district last week.

Flanked by president of district bar association Khurshid Hussain Mughal, he said that the lawyers had submitted applications to the chief justice about the issues in the sectors of roads and communication, distribution of electricity and health on which he issued notices to the secretaries of the departments concerned.

He expressed the hope that the chief justice would provide instant relief to the people of Chitral as they suffered from a number of difficulties due to the negligence of the incumbent government that stopped work on a number of development projects initiated by the previous one.

RATION: Commandant of Chitral Task Force Col Moeenuddin distributed ration and warm clothes among the poor people in a several villages in Yarkhoon and Baroghil valleys. He visited the villages of Pawur, Lusht, Khruzg in Yarkhoon and Kishmanja and Lashkar Warz in Baroghil valley and distributed the ration package containing pulses, ghee, sugar and cooking oil while the warm clothes included woolen coats, jerseys, caps and shawls for women.

He also distributed stationery items among the students of different schools.

ELECTED: Mohammad Wazir Khan was elected president of Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) in its annual general meeting held here the other day.

A press release issued here on Thursday, said that Mohammad Wazir Khan was elected unopposed keeping in view his services in the field of trade spanning over more than four decades.
