To deal with the electricity problem in Karachi; alternate energy options (Solar & Wind Power) should be considered; small renewable energy grids should be developed and implemented at the neighborhood levels: let government offer help to home owners to buy small solar (panel) power units! The home owners should have the option to buy/sell power from/to this energy grid! The development of such grids in Karachi and other parts of the country would generate power and, as well as provide jobs to the youth!
