LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif’s son Salman Shahbaz for Wednesday (tomorrow) in assets beyond means case.
Shahbaz has already been in NAB custody till Oct 16 in a physical remand in the Ashiyana housing scam.
“NAB has issued summons to Salman Shahbaz to appear before a joint investigation team in a complaint regarding building assets beyond his known sources of income,” a source said.
The PML-N has termed the NAB action against the Sharif family members a political victimisation at the behest of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government.

Why a behest? if N-League has not done anything wrong; they can easily quantify their assets.

Dear PMLN supporters,
Why there is no one else in the party capable of party president? Why always from the Sharif (thief) family?

@Tahir Raouf problem is that news and media only covering one family. And us only watching media and news so obviously what happening at the other side of the picture is hidden.

@Tahir Raouf for your information the most corrupt politicians are to be found in two major parties PML(N) and PPP as they had been in power for so long and accordingly are being investigated.......just wait and be patient for development in Sind. Of course there are other individuals too and they too are being investigated. Media only profiles these major parties because of vested interests and kick backs!

Mir Jafar of Bengal, Mir Sadiq of Deccan and Quisling of Norway became synonymous with traitors.
I wonder if the Urdu dixionaries will have have names like Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari under the word corruption...?

@Tahir Raouf "Now it’s confirmed that NAB is biased and working against a single family". If that family has a divine right to rule, it must also have a divine right to be scrutinized. Exclusivity comes with a price, no free lunch.

@Tahir Raouf
Nonsense !
This single family & their accomplices are responsible for 90% corruption in Pakistan. If they are nabbed, then much will be cured.

PML-N is creation of looted money and depends upon the gangsters who looted our national wealth and it is quite obvious that it is saying whatever is attributed to it. It’s not PML-N which says it’s the owners gang who uses it to make their crimes sound political victimisation. Just ignore it and get each and every member of this mafia family and its goons. Bravo!

Objection and serious objection. NAB should summon all Sharifs at same day so that their fate can be decided at the same time to facilitate Nawaz his logistical plan but if Sharifs are investigated with gaps in between then Nawaz faces quite an uphill task. Shahbaz is arrested so Nawaz decided to protest in the parliament, outside parliament and on streets all over the country. Say it takes 3 months and PML (N) exhausts and cannot protest any more. Then (I don’t mean) Salman is arrested so again the same exercise is to be launched for Salman as well but ever since PML (N) is already exhausted protesting in favor of Shahbaz so it will be real test time for them to protest. Very awkward to support the father and ignore the son. Last comes Hamza (again hypothetical situation) if he too is to be arrested by NAB then I very seriously doubt PML (N) could effectively protest. NAB must prove its efficiency to handle Sharifs quite judiciously and not otherwise. Academic exercise. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi

Following courts' proceedings so far, NAB with all the support of JIT has not presented any substantive material against NS. So clearly it is a case of political victimisation.

NAB must wake up and tell us aloud and in black and white if they have other than Sharifs also on their hit lists or not. Few days back Shahbaz Sharif has been arrested by NAB and now NAB has asked his son Salman Shahbaz to appear for investigations on account of living beyond means. On the face of it one feels that NAB is targeting none but Sharifs only which as such goes awfully against NAB to be honest. Alternatively NAB should declare that except Sharifs all other Pakistanis are innocent like newly born so how and why NAB can question and investigate innocents? Wait to hear from NAB but others also no excluded either. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi

@IQBAL HADI ZAIDI - why NAB has to tell who is on their list? So you want those people to leave Pakistan or prepare their defense?
Use common sense in your comments please. Sincerely

Ahsan Gul! I had commented much before that NAB must get all former ministers, advisors, senior bureaucrats, bank chiefs etc on ECL so that none can escape. Anyone who wants to leave Pakistan must get clearance from NAB. What do you say? Iqbal Hadi Zaidi
