DADU: The 26th death anniversary of famous poet of Sindhi and Seraiki languages Ahmed Shah Bukhari, also known as Ustad Bukhari, was observed in Dadu on Tuesday.

The main programme in this connection was organised by Ustad Bukhari Foundation at Zila Council Hall Dadu.

A big number of poets, intellectuals, writers and followers of Ustad Bukhari attended his death anniversary event.

Speaking on the occasion, renowned archaeologist and historian Syed Hakim Ali Shah Bukhari said that Ustad Bukhari was a great poet of this century and he had encouraged people to struggle and work hard. He said his poetry was easy to understand for everyone.

Syed Altaf Shah said that Ustad Bukhari was the poet of public. He said 26 books on poetry of Ustad Bukhari were composed in the Sindhi language and one book in Seraiki by the Ustad Bukhari Foundation.

He said that Ustad Bukhari had guided people in his poetry to work hard in all weathers.

Historian Aziz Kingrani and writer Anwar Azad Kandhro also spoke on the occasion.

The 26th death anniversary programmes were also held in Khairpur Nathan Shah, Mehar, Johi, Sehwan and Kotri by different social organisations.
