HARIPUR: A minor girl died of head injury in her village house here on Friday.

The death occurred after Fatima Noor, three-year-old resident of Pind Jamal Khan village, fell from the roof of her house while playing with siblings. The girl was shifted to the DHQ Hospital, Haripur, after the incident but the doctors pronounced her dead.

Also, a student of Government Primary School for Boys No II died and another suffered injuries when they fell from the school’s boundary wall in a remote village of Nara Amazai union council here.

The police said Waseem Khan, a student of fifth grade, and his classmate Bacha Khan climbed up the school’s boundary wall but fell off after losing balance.

They said Waseem instantly died of head injury, while Bacha Khan was admitted to the hospital due to critical condition.

BEEF SEIZED: The district administration on Friday seized a large quantity of unhygienic beef during raids on many meat shops here.

The crackdown was led by additional assistant commissioner-I Adnan Jameel and carried out by a veterinary doctor, food officials and TMA staff members.

The team visited meat shops and caught two butchers selling unhygienic and unstamped beef in Adda Darband area.

Butchers Arsala Khan and Naeem were fined, while the seized beef was disposed of.

Meanwhile, ACC-I Adnan Jameel collected milk and yogurt samples during a surprise visit to more than 10 dairy shops and sent them to laboratory for examination.

He said the crackdown on adulterated and hazardous milk and yogurt was carried out on the people’s growing complaints.
