KARACHI: Talented Hasheesh Kumar brushed aside rival Taha Amin in the first semifinal while Nepal’s Aarav Hada overcame stiff resistance from Asher Mir in the second semifinal before winning to set up a final clash in the Shamsi Tennis Academy ATF Under-14 Super Series Tennis at DA Creek Club on Thursday.
Hasheesh, who has worked hard on his game since his days as ball boy at the Sindh Club to become a front-ranking young tennis player on the national circuit, proved too good for Taha as he unleashed an array of fine strokes to win 6-2, 6-1.
In the other semifinal, Aarav faced spirited fightback from Asher who stretched the Nepalese with fast-paced serve and volley game before going down 6-4 7-6 (6).
In the boys doubles semifinal, Pakistan’s doubles pair of Ashar and Hasheesh cruised past Nepalese duo of Aarav and Pravan Manandhar 6-2,6-0.
