KARAK: The public health engineering department has formed an inquiry committee to look into the alleged irregularities in the tendering process of a water supply scheme worth over Rs180 million.

The probe body is headed by PHED director Gul Shahid Khan, official sources said on Sunday.

They said the tendering process of the drinking water supply scheme for three union councils of Takht-i-Nusrati was not transparent and the provincial authorities of the department had taken notice of the matter.

DELAY RESENTED: The newly-promoted assistant sub-divisional education officers (ASDEOs) have expressed concern over unnecessary delay in their placement orders.

Sources in the elementary and secondary education department said the promoted ASDEOs had held a meeting in that regard, demanding immediate issuance of the placement orders. They said these officers were promoted by the provincial government in September.

TWO KILLED: Two persons were killed and five seriously injured in separate incidents on Sunday.

Police said Abdullah Khan of Latamber committed suicide over unknown reasons.
