Teachers build nations

This is with reference to the article “Teachers build nations” by Mohammad Arif Iftikhar (YW, October 6).

The writer has correctly emphasised the importance of a teacher in building a nation.

In my opinion, teachers are an extremely important facet of a nation for a number of reasons and their role in a nation is both significant and valuable. Teachers play an extraordinary role in the lives of children, especially during the formative years of their development and growth. They deserve respect for their services towards a nation and its development.

Willpower is soul power

“I can’t change what will happen. I can only change how I act in the face of it.”

Willpower means self-confidence, self-discipline and self-control. It is also the name of the desire to achieve our goals. We are all born with willpower, but some people use it more efficiently and more effectively than others.

All of us wish to achieve many things in life, but it is not enough to have wished to achieve something. People do not lack strength, they lack willpower. We should have a strong willpower to carry out our plans. The cursory study of the history of human civilisation tells us that all great things have been achieved by willpower.

Inferiority complex

An inferiority complex is a feeling of inadequacy due to real or imagined social, intellectual and physical defects. It occurs when we can’t reach our goals and also when we compare ourselves unfavourably to others.

The best method for eliminating inferiority complex, which is another term for deep and profound self-doubt, is to let your mind overflow with faith. Develop a tremendous faith in God and that will give you a humble, yet realistic, faith in yourself.

Thanks to my teacher

A teacher is the most special person in one’s life. I am thankful to all my teachers for being the candle of my life. And I wish them the best of everything on this Teacher’s Day.
