KARACHI: Quaid-e-Azam XI (KBBC) defeated Allama Iqbal XI (Askari Club) 50-42 and reached the semi final of SSB Trophy Quaid-e-Millat Basketball tournament being organised by Pakistan Sports Welfare Association here at Arambagh court the other day.

The match was equally poised at 23-23 at half time. However, in the second half, Quaid-e-Azam XI players were at their best. The scorers for the winners were Raj Kumar (18 points), Fazeel Ahmed (12) and Talal Ahmed (8). For Allama Iqbal XI, the scorers were Syed Bakhtiar (13) Osama (10) and Shahmir Zaheer (9).

Meanwhile, in the ongoing Prof Hashmatullah Lodhi Inter-School boys & girls basketball tournament, The City School (DK) beat The City School (PAF) 22-11 in O’ Levels category of girls’ competition.

Fajar with as many as (121 points) led the team to victory with ample contribution from Amna (10) and Aliza (2) while for the City School (PAF) Laiba and Rameen scored (6) and (2) respectively.

In A Level category of boys’ competition, Bahria Karzsaz outplayed St Pat’s 44-14 and qualified for the semi final. Aun Muhammad scored 10 points while Hamza and Amad Khan scored 10 and 6 points, respectively for the winners. For St Pat’s Dayton scored (6) while Christopher and Vivian (4) and (2) respectively were other scorers for St Pat’s.
