Islamabad police on Sunday registered two more cases against protesters who staged sit-ins for three days against the acquittal of Aasia Bibi by the Supreme Court.
Yesterday, the Interior Ministry announced that it would register cases against all those "miscreants who, under the guise of peaceful protests, caused destruction to property and harmed helpless citizens" during the nationwide protests.
The cases registered today include charges of terrorism and violence against police.
The total number of cases registered against protesters in Islamabad has risen to four.
On Friday, the government and the TLP reached an agreement which led to the wrapping up of protests across the country.

Those who create chances for miscreants to loot and damage people's properties should be added in to the direct damages caused by the protesters. Peaceful protests are everybody's right but causing damages and arson in the cover of protests is not at any cost acceptable.

This drama should stop. When they were demagung properties none of the government agencies stopped them. Police took no action to stop them and those who were arrested will be released based on the agreement government signed.

Register the cases but which judge will conduct the trial, who will prosecute them? The lawyer who pleaded Asia Bibi's case out of the fear for his life has already left the country.

swift action against 1000s of miscreants in a volatile situation could been a disaster. but taking strict action later will act as deterrence & next the number of miscreants will b small so timely action will be possible. DC is doing good job. Appreciated

Where was the Govt., its over a quarters securities agencies when miscreants were destroying properties and terrorising public. the matured approach is to compile data of affectees and compensate them for their damages. It was Govt responsibilities to protect them which it could not deliver.
