Habib School claim swimming title

KARACHI: Habib Public School clinched the Inter-school and college (A-levels) swimming championship, held under the auspices of Pakistan School Sports Olym­pics at the City School PAF campus here the other day.

Habib School bagged seventeen gold medals, 11 silver medals and seven bronze medals after scoring 494 cumulative points while contesting in under-10, U-12 u-14, u-16 and A-levels categories.

Beaconhouse School System JC were the runner-up with three gold medals, nine silve and 11 bronze medals with cumulative 258 points.

Other schools teams which competed in the swimming contest included Beaconhouse PECHS, The City School DK and City School PAF Chapter, Hira Foundation School, Roots, St Michael’s School, Z-International and Karachi Public School.

Among the colleges, Nixor College won the swimming event by bagging three gold medals, two silver medals and a total of 99 points. Alpha College was runner-up with two gold medals, three silver and one bronze. Other competing teams were Cordoba College, Commecs, Roots Millenium and DHA College.

Shazil Farhan of Beaconhouse PECHS, who clinched three gold medals, was named best swimmer.
