Mysterious iceberg spotted in Antarctic

A bizarre iceberg has been spotted by NASA scientists — in the shape of a near-perfect rectangle.

The oddly satisfying phenomenon was discovered near the Larden C ice shelf in the Antarctic Peninsula.

A photo shows a thick block of ice up to a mile long, dramatically protruding from a sea of thin frozen water, thought to have recently splintered off.

Scientists took the snap from a plane used to monitor changing land and sea ice in the South Pole. Many have remarked about its peculiar shape, with some suggesting the work of Photoshop or aliens. But NASA ice scientist Kelly Brunt explained the process that caused it is fairly common.

There are two types of iceberg, she said. The most familiar are those that look like prisms, such as the one that sank the Titanic. The second are called “tabular icebergs”, comparing their formation to a fingernail growing too long and breaking off at the end.

“What makes this one a bit unusual is that it looks almost like a square,” she told.

The size was hard to guess, Ms Brunt said, but suggested it was likely more than a mile long.

And as with all icebergs only 10 percent of it is visible; the rest is buried below the surface of the water.

Pakistani martial artist cracks 243 walnuts with his head

A Pakistani martial artist used his head to crack 243 walnuts, besting a Guinness World Record set earlier this year.

Mohammad Rashid Naseem, 32, of Karachi, posted a video to Facebook showing his official Guinness World Record attempt for most walnuts cracked against the head in one minute.

The video shows Naseem successfully crushing 243 walnuts.

Naseem beat the previous Guinness record, which was set by Indian man S. Navin Kumar in September when he crushed 217 walnuts with his head.

Cops searching for Ross from ‘Friends’

British authorities investigating a restaurant theft have ruled out David Schwimmer as a suspect, even though Facebook users noticed striking similarities between the wanted man and the Friends star.

A CCTV image showing the suspect carrying cans of beer has garnered no less than 69,000 comments on Facebook, including countless references to the iconic ’90s sitcom.

“Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses,” Blackpool Police commented on the image.

“We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We’re so sorry it has to be this way.”

Fans suggested calling this story, “The one where Ross supplies an Alibi.”

Actor David Schwimmer has hilariously responded to those who are convinced that he — or more specifically his character Ross Geller from Friends — is a suspected thief in Blackpool, England, despite police ruling him out.

“Officers, I swear it wasn’t me. As you can see, I was in New York,” Schwimmer, 51, tweeted Wednesday alongside a video.

“To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation. #itwasntme”
