LAHORE, Jan 10: Sialkot were in dire straits after they were left facing a daunting task of scoring 285 runs with six wickets intact to avert an innings defeat against Lahore Blues on the third day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-I match at LCCA Ground Thursday.

Lahore Blues, who earned a lead of 118 on first innings,  declared their second innings at 341 for nine  after resuming at 250 for seven. They eventually declared having gained an overall lead of 459.

At stumps, Sialkot were 185 for four with Hafiz Majid contributing a spirited 68 and opener Inam-ul-Haq 49. The pair added 95 for the third wicket.

Earlier, Bazid Khan went after adding just eight to his overnight 76. Irfan Fazil (51) and Hasnain Kazim (19), however,  stole the  limelight  by  collecting 73 runs in  their  unbroken  10th wicket stand in 40 minutes.
