PESHAWAR: Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junaid Khan on Tuesday honoured two promising squash players — Hamza Niaz and Abbas Zeb — of the province for winning gold medals at the Asian Junior Squash Championship staged in Chennai last month.

During a meeting with the two players, their coaches Tahir Iqbal, Falak Naz and Waseem Ahmed at his office, Junaid handed over a cash prize of Rs100,000 each to Hamza and Abbas for their triumphant show at the Asian Junior Squash Cham­pionship in U-15 and U-17, respectively.

While lauding the performance of Hamza and Abbas in the continental event, Junaid hoped Pakistan’s junior players would continue to fare well to help the country regain glory in world squash.
