QUETTA: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Wednesday that Balochistan government had provided acres of required land for building a new modern railway station in Gwadar.
Talking to newsmen at the Quetta Railway Station, the minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would soon lay the foundation-stone of the project during his visit to the area.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda accompanied the railways minister at the Quetta Railway Station.
Earlier, the three leaders visited the house of Deputy Speaker of National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri to condole the death of his mother.
The minister said that the government had reduced the fare of Akbar Bugti Express to facilitate the people interested in visiting Balochistan.
Besides, he said, air conditions had also been installed in the train to make the journey of the people more comfortable and affordable.
The minister said that it was an honour for him that Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda had visited the Quetta Railway Station along with him at his request.
Mr Rashid said that Pakistan Railways income had gone up by one billion rupees because of improved railway tracks and installations of WIFI in trains, adding that two freight trains would be launched on Dec 25.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had approved creation of 10,000 new jobs in Pakistan Railways.
