Basketball Tournament at Mirpurkhas

KARACHI, Jan 10: Newly elected Sindh Amateur Basketball Association (SABBA) Thursday announced to organize third All-Pakistan Kashmir Cup at Mirpurkhas from Feb 5 to 10.

Leading teams will be featuring in the six-day competition which is being staged in interior of Sindh to promote the neglected sports, Brig (Retd) Rashid Malik told media at news conference at Karachi Gymkhana Thursday.

Rashid said the aim of SABA was to develop and promote the sport in the Sindh and particularly in smaller cities besides planning to construct basketball courts in all districts of the province.

He said out of six district of Sindh four took part in the elections out of 17 district of Sindh. He said Karachi and Sukkur did not take part in the elections.

Rashid said there was a lot of talent available in Sindh and they are planning to produce and groom players of the national level.

He said efforts are being made to take Karachi and Sukkur associations with them in order to promote basketball.—APP
