Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to attend the 9th Sir Bani Yas Forum, Radio Pakistan reported on Friday.
A day earlier, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal shared that the minister had left for the UAE.
In his tweet, Faisal added that foreign ministers from various countries will attend the conference which is being organised by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Issues related to the Middle East will be discussed.
FM Qureshi, during his two-day official visit, will also hold meetings with leadership of the UAE and other countries, Radio Pakistan added.

And, the promise was not to send any minister on foreign visits during initial 3 months? But, this is a U-turn government.

@M.Saeed, That promise was only for the PM himself in case it is not urgent. However, he had to go for urgent visits to fix the fiscal situation. Can't you appreciate the good things?

FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi is following the austerity drive, earlier in his visit to US he save huge money by traveling like ordinary pax. I hope the Indian External Minister Ma’am Sushma Swaraj will be there too, and FM Qureishi must avail the opportunity to talk, and now as situation already congenial after go ahead signal of TAPI Gas project,
must agree for free trade, trade transits, the people to people contact made easy, and began with easing visits by overseas Pakistanis and overseas Indians to travel to either country without visa, just entry. Such easement will promote tourism and great revenue in shape of foreign exchange. No need to mention that legal residents abroad are the most decent class of citizens, well background checked, and visits by such individuals is a good omen for revenue & tourism. Let’s hope the instant visit of FM Qureshi will be fruitful for the people of our great region.

What role we can play in Middle East? Are we that important and capable? Middle East activities are controlled by Arabs and Israel, with some interference by Iran and Turkey!
