LAHORE: The 33rd Maple Leaf ITF World Ranking Tennis Cham­pionship entered its final stage at the Punjab Lawn Tennis Association courts here on Thursday.

In the seniors doubles category semi-finals, Talha Waheed and Mohammad Shakeel’s beat Haider Khan and Syed Hadi Hussain 7-5, 3-6, 10-7. Irfanullah and Shehzad also won against Asghar Ali Khan and Fayyaz Khan 6-3, 6-3.

In the 45-plus singles semi-finals, Rashid Malik defeated Irfanullah 6-2, 6-2.

In seniors doubles (65-plus), Pervez Bajwa and Naveed Najum beat Ashfaq Chohan and Gul Hamid 6-1, 7-5.

In seniors doubles (40-plus) semis, Talha Waheed and Maj. Adnan beat Arif Feroze and Jehanzeb Khan 7-6, 5-7, 10-7. In 55-plus seniors doubles final, Rashid Malik and Nau­man Aleem beat Rai Zahid and Dr Naveed 6-4, 6-2.
