We have been making traditional pen or pencil holders up till now. But today we will learn to make a frog on the wall pen/pencil holder by mounting it either on the wall of your room or in the lounge where it’s easy for everyone to reach out for the pen/pencil anytime. So let’s start our cute little craft.
Things you need:
Green felt sheets in two colours (light and dark for frog’s body)
Red, white and black small pieces of either felt or paper (to make tongue and eyes).
One piece of string (six to seven-inches)
One stick (six to seven-inches)
Hot glue or white glue (hot glue works better)
Scissors
A pencil or black marker
Directions:
We will start with the body: take the light green-coloured felt and cut a circle from it, (you can do it easily by placing any small bowl and make a circle with the pencil then cut it out: picture 2, 3.
Take the darker felt and place the lighter green circle on it and cut it out. This time the circle will be “.5cm” bigger than the lighter one as this will make a pouch on the frog’s main body, picture 4.
Now cut this large circle around two-inches from only the upper side as in pictures 5 and 6.
Cut an oval (for the head) according to the circles of the body, picture 7.
Now paste glue on all these parts accordingly, picture 8.
To make the eyes: cut two oval-shaped pieces from the white felt and smaller ovals from the black felt to make the cornea of the eyes, picture 9. (To give a funny look we will cut one white oval smaller than the other).
Cut arms as in picture 10.
Paste eyes and arms on their respective places, picture 11.
Draw a semi-circle with the black marker to show mouth-line.
To make the tongue, cut one to two-inches from red felt and paste it on any side of the mouth line, see picture 12. (The hearts I used on the mouth are optional).
Cut three-fingered feet from the darker green felt sheet, picture 13.
Paste the feet behind the main body.
Put stick over the hands of the frog and curve them around the stick to show the frog is holding the stick, picture 14.
Lastly, make knots of the string on both sides of the stick, picture 15.
Our cute little frog on the wall is ready, hang it anywhere.
