CHITRAL: A Kashmir markhor was captured by the Airport Security Force personnel while entering the airport premises early in the morning here on Monday and handed over to the wildlife department officials who released it in the core area of Chitral Gol National Park.
The wild goat had earlier taken refuge in a cave in the hillock near Chew Bridge two days ago when it was chased by the stray dogs in the vicinity of the buffer zone area of the national park.
Divisional forest officer of Chitral Gol National Park Division, Irshad Ahmed, told Dawn that the same markhor had again descended on the Balach village in the nighttime and was spotted inside the airport early in the morning and was captured by the ASF personnel.
He said the animal was taken to the core area of the national park and was released there.
