KOHAT: The Local Council Board here on Thursday made two senior officials as officers on special duty (OSD) and transferred one to hard area as punishment.

Tehsil municipal officer, Kohat, Amin Gul was made OSD pending inquiry into Rs70 million Shabistan plaza and reports of other corruption inquires. He was informed through a fax message to report to Peshawar and another official Ehsanullah had been asked to take charge of the TMO, Kohat, with immediate effect.

Similarly, minister for local government Shahram Tarakai made the TMO of Gumbat tehsil of Kohat, Mohammad Amin, as OSD.

Former TMO Mohammad Shoeb awaiting posting as regional municipal officer and in-charge of Kohat, Hangu and Karak districts of the newly created post, had been transferred to Umerzai, Charsadda.

Earlier, Mr Shoeb told this correspondent that Mr Tarakai and secretary Zahir Shah taking notice on media reports and other complaints decided to make Amin Gul OSD. He said that Mr Gul had been removed in alleged corruption in construction of plazas.

MOCK EXERCISES: The district police officer has said that a comprehensive plan is being devised to achieve the required level of security in case of a terrorist attack and a series of mock combat and rescue exercises have been launched in the regard.

DPO Hamid Mehmood in a statement said that regular advisories were being issued to the administrations of sensitive installations and private and government schools to remain alert against any terrorist attack.

He said that these exercises were being supervised by SP operations Silahuddin Kundi and elite force DSP Irfan Khan.

On Thursday, the exercise was held at Iqra Public School and College where the quick response police reached the scene soon after the call and surrounded the whole building. After that a rescue operation was started and children and teachers were evacuated after which combat started and the injured were removed.
