Yasir dint deliver when it mattered the most, even when the ball was turning square on a 4th day pitch. How come NZ spinners are able to take wickets on the same pitch? But it's okay, he is still learning. And other bowlers dint deliver too. And Sarfaraz's unimaginative captaincy dint help either.

Any team winning the toss in a test match against Pakistan and opts to bat first has already won the 50 percent of the match mentally keeping in mind that they can bundle-up Pakistan by leaving them with a target between 150 - 200 in the second innings regardless of it to be either seaming, turning or a flat track.

As I indicated earlier that keep Hafeez focused on T20 only but he was included in the 3rd test just to make him scapegoat. To my mind, there are few areas which cost Pk
1. If someone to pick out of the lot who wad responsible for this series loss is Azhar Ali. Though he scored most of the runs in the series but he was responsible for the loss in first test and couldn't score those meagre four runs. In the finsl test, having scored a century at 134 and Pakistan having just 10 runs lead, he should have stayed at the wicket more time. The shot he played looked as if Pakistan was 100 runs ahead. His dismissal opened the gate and Pakistan couldn't get enough lead. In the second innings, as i have mentioned earlier lack of proper technique to cope with swing.
2. Asad Shafiq's attitude looks complacent ever since Sarfaraz has taken up the captaincy for the reasons best known to him. Though technically a good batsman but loses his concentration. He was much better performer under Misbah.

The result was known a day in advance ; chasing a meagre total is beyond the reach of our batsmen. I hope and pray that we rise quickly. Sarfaraz has to improve his batting. Plus a search committee be asked to unearth new talent - a brittle batting line-up is something which disturbs us.

The fact that Pakistan have now started losing games in UAE, once their fortress, is proof that our test batting is not of international standard. Only 1 or 2 players are performing. Bowling also looked off colour in NZ’s second innings but where the game was lost was in the first innings when our late middle order failed to take a first innings lead of 150-200 having surpassed the NZ score with 7 wickets remaining. We are a mediocre test and ODI side right now, only good in T20Is where again it is the bowlers that win us games. Perhaps time to relieve Sarfraz of test captaincy duties.

@Faisal Naqvi: Pak team consist of 6 batsmen, 1 w/k and 4 bowlers. You cannot blame bowling or w/k failures on batsmen neither other way round (though, many Pakistani retards do that).
Sarfraz in NOT in team as batsman, he is Captain and w/k who can bat. Reason for Pakistan misery is not bowling, captaincy or w/k, it is 'batting failures', and that is due to corruption, biases and nepotism in selection. Is it not surprising that ONLY batsman with good FC ave in team is Haris (50.1)?
If Pakistan lacks good batsmen in country and selected ones are best, than there was no blame on Selectors for this misery, but selectors have selected the worst batsmen in team.
For instance, Fawad (FC batting ave 56.1), Osman (ave 47.7) and Saad (ave 46.8) are not in team 'BUT' Hafeez (Ave 34.7), Imam (ave 34.7), Babar (ave 37.4), Azhar (ave 40) and Asad (ave 40.4) are in team.
Sarfraz as W.K has good batting ave (40.4), but his being in team is public pressure and Luck, not selection committee.

hiring an expensive foreign administrator, when there is no system, and Test players play recklessly is a waste of money and talent. no batsman assumed responsibility in NZ tests 1 and 3, the bowlers even lost the plot, giving away over 80 runs in 9 overs in a test match. the selectors, coaches, and the irresponsible captain are all responsible for the losses. and, to their credit, NZ played responsibly, as a team with a singular purpose, kudos. they deserved to win.

Selectors could have waited to end this series before announcing the squad for SA. I think one can remove Sarfaraz and Arthur from the team without any further discussion, both the guys have no clue whatsoever is happening around them. A familiar scenario: Over 200 target in the fourth innings on the fifth day of a Test Match, which was a decider, and Pakistan slump very early on without putting up a real fight to eventually lose by a big margin. If one tries to put the blame, it squarely falls on the captain and the coach(es) without a second thought. Sarfaraz looked like he had already given up from the time he lost the toss. Having been sent to field, he became defensive, and as the game progressed, he toed the same line even when the chips were down for the Kiwis, who not only capitalized on that but went on to score at a blistering pace on the fifth day to set a daunting target of 280 for a team like Pakistan, who could not even last 79 overs. The management must take serious note of this mentality and try to come up with a better combination and Plan A or Plan B for the forthcoming series in South Africa. Replacement of the captain takes the center-stage from now onwards.

Just friendly pitch conditions is not a good enough advantage anymore. Other teams have become more competitive and adapt well.

My point is when selectors are getting one after another bowling champion(Abbas, shaheen, shadab,Hasan to name a few) why are they struggling to get one champion test batsman. Maybe it is not the selectors, maybe it lack of batsmen with test temperament.

Sarfaraz didn’t even thank Hafeez in the post match show.
New Zealand captain did. Shows how much players don’t care about each other in Pakistan team. Sad.

@Arif, Not soooo fast, man! Did you forget Pakistan's performance in England? Just bear in mind that Pakistan has been playing multiple series back to back, and this has taken its toll on the players. It's not really an excuse but that's a big factor in putting up formidable and consistent performances against tough teams unlike India who has recently been playing in home conditions against mediocre teams. A five match Test series at neutral venues will, once and for all, decide the better side.

Pakistan batting is weak. They are not a good test batting side. They need innings builders which they do not have

@Arif, You will fail also in T20 against tough opponent like India...Now a days no Team is even near to India in any aspect...India bowlers are better then Pak bowlers too...Look at afghan ..they will beat you..they have dangerous batsman...

@Masood abro, It is not fair to hold Azhar Ali responsible for our defeat in the first test. His
strategy was to score the required runs in singles
and keep Abbas as much as possible at the non striker’s end. Regarding Asad Shafiq, I would say they have over rated him. He still lacks the quality
of a matured batsman. His batting record shows he
has never performed well under difficult situations.
Lastly , the main reasons of our debacle in the final
test is the failure of our bowlers to break the fifth
wicket partnership between Williamson and Nicholls.

I watched the first 45 odd minutes of the 5th day's play. It was truly bizarre to see New Zealand get 81 runs in 9 overs against what is a good bowling attack.

@Faisal Naqvi: I gave you the answer, that is nepotism, corruption, provincialism and personal like/dislike that PCB officials and Selectors use to select players is the cause that is destroying Pak Cricket, just like Hockey, Squash and is destroyed.
For instance: Cricket is game of numbers. In domestic cricket, where everything is equal, it is obvious that better player would post better performance and should be selected in national team.
Unfortunately in Pakistan, we have top batsmen like Fawad (Ave 56 - Only 25 batsmen in entire cricket history around the world have/had better or equal average than Fawad - no Pakistani ever had average better than Fawad), Saad Ali (Ave 47), Osman (Ave 47), etc with high averages are not selected, but selectors selects thrid class batsmen with pathetic averages like Hafeez (Ave 34.7), Imam (ave 34.7), Babar (ave 37.4), Azhar (ave 40) and Asad (ave 40.4) and so on as batsmen, than things become too obvious and we know where fault lies.

@Faisal Naqvi: Can you see the names what you quoted? ... Pakistan had some failed, some Ave and some successful batsmen. Now let see the difference, hidden in their FC average.
Failed or Ave batsmen: U Akmal (FC Ave 43.6), Imran F (Ave 42.4), Shahzad (Ave 42.0), U Amin (Ave 40.0), Taufeeq (Ave 36.4), Shan (Ave 33.8)
Successful: Miandad (Ave 53.4), Hanif (Ave 52.3), Zaheer (Ave 51.5), Inzamam (Ave 50.1), Yunis K (Ave 49.9), M Yousuf (Ave 48.0) ...
Difference: Successful batsmen had FC ave above 48. Failed or Ave batsmen had FC ave below 44.
Present team: Shan (Ave 33.8), Imam (Ave 34.7), Hafeez (Ave 34.8), Babar (Ave 37.4), Azhar (Ave 40), Asad (Ave 40.4), Fakhar (Ave 43.2) ...
Ignored: Fawad (Ave 56), Saad Ali (Ave 47), Osman (Ave 47) - So, why?
When all batsmen had equal opportunity to score in FC and perform better than each others, why ignore better batsmen and select low performer? When player could not perform in domestic cricket, why expect them to perform in Tests?
