CHITRAL: The University of Chitral has published its ‘Journal of Religious Studies’ within two years of its establishment and 55 per cent articles in it have been written by scholars from the reputed universities of different countries including United Kingdom, the Holland, Malaysia and Jordan.
Prof Badshah Munir Bukhari, the project director of the university, told this scribe that the journal consisted of three sections -- English, Arabic and Urdu. He said that the articles were examined and scrutinised as per standards of Higher Education Commission and special measures were taken to check plagiarism.
He said that the journal was aimed at promoting dialogue between different religions of the world and creating awareness about religious knowledge.
Mr Bukhari termed the publication of the journal a milestone in history of the university that got appreciation from the researchers throughout the country and abroad.
He said that for citation and referencing, the journal was connected with international research networks while it could be downloaded from the website and its international copyright was obtained.
BILL: MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali has said that the bill tabled by him in the assembly regarding restoration of a provincial assembly seat of Chitral has been referred to the standing committee concerned.
Talking to journalists by telephone here on Tuesday, he said that Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Khan did not oppose it, so it was sent to the standing committee for further action.
The MNA said that he had contended in the bill that Chitral had two constituencies of provincial assembly till the general elections 2018 when it was curtailed to one. “Now the district has been bifurcated and it will not be possible for one MPA to cover two districts,” he added.
Maulana Chitrali said that referring of the bill to the standing committee without any opposition from the treasury benches was an achievement.
