SWABI: Two people were killed and one was injured in two different incidents here on Friday.

Registering an FIR, Ijaz Khan said that he was going along with his brother on motorcycle to Chota Lahor area when another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction hit them near Jaganat.

As a result, his brother was killed on the spot and he himself suffered injuries. Mr Ijaz said that after the accident, the other rider escaped on his motorcycle. The local police registered an FIR and have started investigations.

In Yare Hussain village, one Ali Haidar was killed and his two sons Ishtiaq Ahmad and Bilal Ahmad survived the attack.

Registering an FIR in Yar Hussain police station, Mr Ishtiaq stated that their rivals opened fire on them near their fields and fled from the scene. The cause of the incident is stated to be a land dispute. He alleged that Mohammad Ayaz, Mohammad Hussain and Khalid Khan were involved in the attack. Police have registered the case.

YASIR SHAH PRAISED: Awami National Party central general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain said here on Friday that star cricketer Yasir Shah had won the hearts and minds of the entire nation by breaking the 82-year-old international record to take the fastest 200 wickets.

Talking to mediapersons at Yasir Shah’s residence here in Serai village, he said that Pakhtuns were very talented and they could excel in every field, but they needed a platform to shine. Answering a question, he said that there was no dearth of talent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

FOG LOWERS VISIBILITY: Fog enveloped various areas of the district located near the Indus River and Tarbela Dam here on Friday, lowering visibility and causing drop in mercury. Officials said that fog was caused by increased humidity. They said that the foggy conditions would continue in the district because of its close proximity to the Indus River. They advised drivers to take care and avoid speeding during foggy conditions.
