ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesday met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Konya during his official visit to Turkey.
According to a press release, during the meeting the CJP highlighted the positive relationship between the peoples of Pakistan and Turkey.
President Erdogan expressed his warm sentiments for the people of Pakistan and welcomed the chief justice to the historic city, it said.
The CJP later attended the Seb-i-Arus events being held in Konya to commemorate the death anniversary of renowned Sufi saint and poet Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi and witnessed the Samah ceremony as part of the events.
Earlier in the day, the CJP held a meeting with president of the Turkish constitutional court, Prof Dr Zuhtu Arslan, in Ankara. The two jurists exchanged views on legal and judicial matters of mutual interest.
