SIALKOT: Sialkot International Airport Business Development Committee Chairman Mian Naeem Javaid has announced maximum facilities for the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Addressing the participants in a road show organised by the airport administration at Mirpur, AJK, he shared the success story of the airport, saying that the project, set up by Sialkot exporters on a self-help basis, has been playing a pivotal role in opening new vistas of socioeconomic and human development in Sialkot, Gujrat and Gujranwala districts and helping the businessmen boost their exports.

He said the facility was contributing to the national economy by earning the foreign exchange to the tune of $2bn annually.

“Fifty-one international passenger flights take off from the airport to the foreign destinations per week and the number of these flights would soon be increased due to the growing number of passengers.”

Mr Javaid added the regular cargo flights to Europe and America were also going on from the airport and its management had formally invited several international airlines to start their flights from Sialkot-Pakistan.
