PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company and district administration during a joint operation against power thieves in different areas of the provincial metropolis have cut off power connections to 72 buildings, including both commercial and domestic.

According to a statement issued here on Friday, the operation was carried out in various localities, including Kohat Road, Mattani, Khwarasan Camp, Pawaka, University Town, Hayatabad and Abdara Road. It said that 24 power transformers were also removed from these areas.

The operation was supervised by Khyber circle superintending engineer Tahir Jamal, Peshawar circle SE Samiullah Bangash, assistant commissioner Humayun Khan and other officials of the power company and district administration.
