HYDERABAD, June 26: Workers of the People’s Labour Bureau held a demonstration outside the press club on Sunday to protest against the arrest of PPP Hyderabad city president and MPA Zahid Ali Bhurgari in what they called a false case.
The president of the bureau, Manzoor Hussain Shah, staged a mock imprisonment by locking himself in an iron cage on the road.
Local party leaders Aman Siyal, Lal Bux Kalhoro, Ghulam Rasool Memon and Saleem Shah were present on the occasion.
Labour bureau president also cut a cake of 52nd birthday anniversary of party chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
Speaking on the occasion, he said democracy had been confined in a cage and so called democratic government was resorting to political victimization against opponents.
He said the PPP would continue struggle till restoration of real democracy and Benazir Bhutto would become prime minister for the third time in the county.
WORKSHOP: A training workshop of labour councillors concluded on Saturday with a call to councillors to keep themselves abreast of different laws and organizations as it will help them get their due rights.
The councillors were told that they must be aware of the Employment Old Age Benefit Institute and Sindh Employees Social Security Institution as well as different workers related schemes.
The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Labour and Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis. Labour councillors from Kotri, Jamshoro district, attended the workshop.
