Almost everything has gone virtual these days, including wishing someone on any special event with just a simple text on their mobile; we hardly see someone buying a ‘wishing card’ whether for birthday, wedding or even Eid.
Therefore, today we are reviving the old custom of giving cards by making a simple, yet elegant New Year wishing card.
Things you need:
One hard paper, A4-sized (of any colour of your choice)
Pencil
Colourful pieces of papers (of as many colours as you can get)
Scissors
Glue stick
Glitters
Sequences
A piece of transparent plastic (three-inches wide, three-inches long)
Round-shaped cover of any jar or compass to make a circle of around 3-inches diameter.
Directions:
Two-fold the hard paper and make a circle in the centre of it with the help of a pencil or a compass, picture 2.
Cut it out. Glue the edges of the hollow circle, picture 3.
Paste the plastic piece over it, as in picture 4.
Put sequins and glitters carefully on the plastic, picture 5.
Cut any colourful piece of paper according to the circle on the hard paper and paste glitters and sequins over it, picture 6.
Make a circle with a marker on the front of cut-out circle, picture 7.
With the same circular cover of any jar or compass make a circle on the colourful papers, (you must have at least six such circles). Picture 8.
Two fold the colourful circles into semicircles and glue one side to the other circle, pictures 9, 10 and 11 (make two such rainbow balls then put them aside).
Paste any coloured paper on the inside of the card to highlight our rainbow balls, picture 12
When dry, paste these rainbow balls on one side of the card, picture 13. You can write various messages on each colourful flap of the ball, if you like.
Our New Year’s card is ready, just write your message on the other side of the card and decorate it the way you want.
