LAHORE: Pakistani expatriates are worried about situation in the country and they think that without eliminating corruption and injustice, economy cannot improve, says Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri.

Talking to journalists at the airport, where he was welcomed by his party workers, he said role of judiciary against corruption deserved a lot of appreciation.

He said the PAT had struggled for years against political mafia of Sharifs, laid down lives, faced character assassination, fake cases and incarceration of workers, but did not bow down before oppression of corrupt rulers.

He said those who now claimed they were being victimised had illegally detained over 25,000 workers of PAT, framed hundreds of workers in fake cases of terrorism, even FIR of martyrs of Model Town was registered against workers of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek.

He said those who had unleashed worst kind of atrocities against the PAT had now become an example for others. “The government and judiciary have a role to play in rooting out injustice and corruption but ultimate role is to be played by masses and they must hold those accountable who have made politics and vote a source to accumulate wealth by every unfair mean. Such elements should not be allowed to reach august houses.”
