Two matches decided at Pakistan Polo Cup

LAHORE: PBG/Remounts and Olympia notched up victories in their matches of the Pakistan Polo Cup here at Lahore Polo Club ground on Wednesday. PBG/Remounts beat Polo D Sufi 6½-4 while Olympia overcame Guard Group/Diamond Paints 6-4½.

Mumtaz Abbas Niazi and Nicolas Ruiz Guinazu struck hat-tricks each for PBG/Remounts, who had a half-goal handicap, while Raja Temur Nadeem hit a treble for Polo D Sufi while Ahmed Ali Tiwana scored the other.

Guard Group/Diamond Paints also had a half-goal handicap but weren’t able to make it count as goals from Hamza Mawaz Khan (2), Saqib Khan Khakwani and Farooq Amin Sufi proved insufficient against Olympia for whom Bilal Haye scored a hat-trick with Goffredo Cutinelli adding a brace and Ahmed Zubair Butt scoring the other goal.
