Pakistan seeks FTA with GCC

ISLAMABAD, June 28: A business delegation would soon be sent to Bahrain to explore the scope for joint ventures and business opportunities there. This was stated by additional secretary commerce ministry Asif Shah in a meeting with the first deputy to the head of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Member of Consultative Council (Shura) here on Tuesday.

An official announcement said that the additional secretary solicited the support of Bahrain chamber for Pakistan’s free trade agreement (FTA) with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Pakistan was interested to conclude FTA with GCC at earliest, he added.

Mr Shah said Pakistan had world class banking professionals and volunteers to offer their services to countries and regimes like Bahrain.

The Bahrain delegation suggested that a joint forum for the business communities of the two countries should be set up and exchange of delegation should take place more frequently.
