SIALKOT: Two unidentified armed men looted jewellery worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from the family of a local landlord after wounding him and his nephew upon offering resistance near Kassowal village in Daska tehsil on Monday.
According to the first information report, Haji Javaid Ahmed of Kot Karama Bakhsh village and his family were going to attend the wedding of Ahmed’s nephew Ehtesham Tariq in Ghagharwali village when two armed motorcyclists intercepted their car and held them at gunpoint. The suspects shot at and injured Ahmed and Tariq on offering resistance. They looted jewellery worth hundreds of thousands of rupees and fled from the scene.
The injured were shifted to Gujranwala DHQ Hospital in critical condition from Daska Civil Hospital. Satrah police registered a case with no arrests.
In another dacoity on Daska city’s Bank Road, three armed men looted Rs2.2 million at gunpoint from a filling station manager. Iftikhar Ahmed was going to a bank to deposit the amount when he was looted on the way. Daska City police registered a case.
Moreover, two suspects looted jewellery, cash and a motorcycle at gunpoint from Ali Arshad of Bharokey village and his family near Rangaanwala village in Daska. The suspects then fled on the snatched motorcycle.
Later, the suspects snatched a van at gunpoint from Ejaz on main Daska-Gujranwala road near Glotiyaan village and fled towards Gujranwala in the vehicle abandoning the motorcycle.
Daska police have started investigating.
