LAHORE: The Punjab government on Tuesday formed nine members Punjab Healthcare Commission for a term of three years.

A notification states, “In exercise of the powers conferred under section 5 read with section 6 of the Punjab Healthcare Commission Act, 2010 (XVI of 2010) Competent Authority is pleased to nominate the following as Commissioners, Punjab Healthcare Commission. The members include retired justice Karamat Nazir Bhandari, GM Sikander, Ch Muhammad Ashraf, Prof Dr Mira Phalbus, Prof Dr Tariq Bhutta, Prof Dr Attiya Mubarak Khalid, Fatima Fazal, Usman Yousaf and financial expert Shahzad Hussain.

The notification further states the members shall hold office for a term of three years as prescribed under Section 6 of Punjab Healthcare Commission Act, 2010.

On Nov 17 last year, the Supreme Court had dissolved the Board of Commissioners-Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) and ordered for a new board.
