List of public holidays for 2019 released by interior ministry

The Ministry of Interior has released a list of public holidays to fall in 2019. The notification from the ministry clarifies that Muslim festivals will be subject to change according to the sighting of the moon. In case of a change in the dates for such holidays, a separate notification will be issued.
The holidays include:
Kashmir Day — February 5 (Tuesday)
Pakistan Day — March 23 (Saturday)
Labour Day — May 1 (Wednesday)
Eidul Fitr — June 5, 6, 7 (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
Eidul Azha — August 12, 13, 14 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)
Independence day — August 14 (Wednesday)
Ashura — September 9, 10 (Monday, Tuesday)
Eid-i-Miladun Nabi — November 10 (Sunday)
Quaid-i-Azam Day — December 25 (Wednesday)
The following dates will be considered bank holidays. However, while banks will remain shut to the public on these days, employees will have to report to work as usual.
May 6 (corresponding to the first day of Ramazan)

@DK PAMNANI, Read the news properly. It is mentioned that these days of holidays are for the whole nation. As far as holidays for minorities ar concerned, they are allowed to take day off.

@DK PAMNANI, respective religious groups can avail the holidays accordingly. i.e. Easter is an optional holiday for Christians and Holi is an optional holiday for Hindus

@DK PAMNANI, These are always allowed to minorities a separate list is issued for minorities Hindus, Parsis, Christians, Balmukhi and Sikhs

The practice of planned holidays, and holidays observed should be published, so we can have an idea of how many are there. There are far too many holidays as it is. And while other comments asking about more holidays maybe from good intentions, but, we can't have too many. And I would argue we need to have a formula, like, for example, 1 holiday each month, or something similar. If there are more than 1 in a month, we'd need to select 1 of them, and the others maybe observed as part of a regular day.

Holidays for minorities are not announced at Government levels. This comes dowm to the local governments and offered to those effective only

@DK PAMNANI, Minorities are allowed, by law, to take the day off on their holy festivals. Muslims are not allowed to have a day off on those days and so they are not gazetted holidays.

All the minority festivals, Diwali, Christmas etc are also accordingly announced in the Final Gazette notification (applicable for relevant religious group only), it will also include the regional holidays. this list here is only for key holidays applicable to all, across the country.

Why Pakistan celebrate Labor Day? even country has no Labor laws and there is no such department for declaring labor wages. Companies hire employees with bargain negotiation having no country standard.

It is Gazzetted Holidy on Diwali, Dussehera,Holi, Janmasthmi, Idd, for both Hindu and Muslims, sikhs, christians. Even on Guru Nank Birthday, it is gazzetted Holidy for all community.

@Saif Zulfiqar, 80 % Indian Hindus enjoy full holiday on festivals of all minorities . Islam, Christianity, Jain or Buddhist. The same applies for minorities too for Hindu festivals. Public holiday means National holiday to us , not some selective restrictive holiday.
