Indian army chief

Published January 13, 2019

HARDLY a day passes without the Indian army chief, Bipin Rawat, expressing his views on diverse subjects.

While India’s external affairs minister is usually silent on matters like talks with Kashmiri freedom fighters or the Afghan Taliban, the army chief is very vocal.

He also postulated a format for talks with Afghan Taliban quite different from that for Kashmiri freedom fighters.

He even washed dirty linen in public by talking about taboo subjects like gay behaviour and adultery in the Indian army.

One wonders what ails the Indian army chief?
