LAKKI MARWAT: Deputy commissioner Jehangir Azam Wazir on Tuesday inspected sites to be developed in Lakki and Naurang cities under the beautification project.
The Rs1 billion funds will be spent on beautification and renovation projects in the district.
The deputy commissioner visited main Lari Adda, Eidgah Road, Lakki-Darra Tang Road, Michenkhel Bus Stand, Saeedkhel Morr, Bazaar Meenakhel and Mela Mandi Bazaar in Lakki city.
Officials of the communication and works department, tehsil municipal administration and other departments and traders accompanied him.
Mr Wazir also went to Naurang city, where he along with district nazim Iqbal Hussain examined the sites for beautification scheme.
He said the administration would improve the conditions of roads and streets, install streetlights, and develop parks in urban localities.
The deputy commissioner said funds would also be spent to repair drainage system, construct public toilets and waiting sheds, improve sports facilities, set up greenbelts, and install pedestrian bridges.
He directed the relevant officials to fulfil formalities to ensure the early start of work on the project.
COMPLAINT CELL: Bannu regional police officer Abdullah Khan on Tuesday inaugurated a complaint cell in the offices of the district police officer at the police lines here.
He told reporters that the people could lodge complaints against police with the cell by phone, SMS and email for speedy action.
The RPO said the initiatives like police access service and complaint cell would help restore the people’s trust in police and improve their liaison for checking crime and maintaining law and order.
He asked the residents to use the complaint cell facility for the speedy yet effective resolution of their problems.
