KARACHI: Pakistan players, who participated in the second tournament of the ITF Asia Under-14 Development Championship Division 2, in Nonthaburi, Thailand, put up a fine display in the event and gave tough time to their opponents.

Talented Hamid Israr played the doubles final for second consecutive tournament, pairing with Hossain Mohammad Roman of Bangladesh. The fourth seed pair of Hamid Israr and Hossain Roman, however, lost the final 6-3, 6-0 to the second seed pair of M. Alkotop (Jordan) & Kasra Rahmani (Iran).

After the conclusion of the two tournaments, the overall standing of the Pakistani players is as under:

Hamid finished 5th out of a total of 64 participants and was the best performer among the Pakistani players. Hassan Ali and Huzaifa Khan finished 9th and 10th respectively in the boy’s singles category.

Among the girls, Sheeza Sajid finished 23rd out of a total of 32 participants in the girls singles category.

Salim Saifullah Khan, President PTF, praised the fine performance of the junior players and congratulated them as well as coach Nameer Shamsi on their achievement.
