Maryam says ex-PM is not well and will be taken to PIC

LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz said on Monday that her father former premier Nawaz Sharif was not well and he would be taken to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) for a check-up.
“I have been told that MNS (Mian Nawaz Sharif) is unwell and is being taken to PIC tomorrow (Tuesday) but myself or the family have no knowledge of it. We still haven’t received the reports given by the medical boards.
“After pleading with the jail authorities, we have also written to the Home department,” Maryam Nawaz tweeted on Monday.
Mr Sharif’s cardiologist Dr Adnan Khan tweeted: “The findings and recommendations of the high-profile medical board which consulted former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Jan 16 is still awaited & not shared with me or the family. Health concerns demand an early action by the authorities. Matter is of immense urgency.”
Mr Sharif has vague symptoms of pain in both arms particularly at night and numbness of toes, says a three-member special medical board which examined him at Kot Lakhpat jail.
PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb demanded ‘authentic information’ about Mr Sharif’s health to be shared with his family immediately.
“Pakistanis are deeply concerned and worried over his health and well-being and want to know what led to the decision of shifting their leader from the jail to the hospital,” she said in a statement.
She lambasted the home department and the PTI government for not sharing medical reports and called this approach sickness of a vengeful mind that was incapable of registering human values.

He is a prisoner. Even in US there are delays in treatment of prisoners. Only if he would have made good hospitals people would remembered him well.

Well he is a long standing diabetic and will have diabetic neuropathy accounting for numbness of toes. Can be diagnosed with simple neve conduct studies.

WHo do we believe? A drama to find excuse to let him travvel to UK for medical treatment? Same why Hamza Sharif let with one-time permission to visit his 'ailing (but shopping) wife in London? We've seen this movie before. All polticians and corrupt officials suddenly catch some serious disease in Prison, to able to claim treatment can only be possible abroad. One-way ticket and permission to travel. Then they are as free as a bird, gone for good, while Pakistnai Police and Courts chase foreign nations for the extradition of criminals, to no avail.
Time someone put the foot down on this fakery.

@Waqas, O but they do - I have lost track how many times these guys go overseas for treatment.
PM IK needs to change the ‘health/sickness coverage’ to be based on Pakistan rates of treatment. I recall a friend who was working in Lahore, but while traveling overseas needed urgent surgery. The Pakistan ‘insurance’ only reimbursed what that treatment would have cost in Lahore.

Ms. Aurangzeb, how do you know that Pakistanis are deeply concerned and worried over his health and well-being? You are a spokesperson of PML-N and not all the Pakistanis. I would assume that Pakistanis are worried about their own wellbeing that Nawaz Sharif had selfishly neglected over a period of almost four decades. It's not a hidden fact that majority of Pakistanis are happy that he is in jail which he truly deserves.

In my view, poor health being used to blackmail government to get relief. This is the excuse normally used by corrupt mafia, dishonest politicians and bueaucrates to fly out of the country - the question is will NS be successful in getting a relief and will PTI government allow him without getting back all looted money? I have diabetes for last 40 years with severe neuropathy and do have pain in both feet and I hope to live till age 95. NS, you will only get better if you give up all the money the Sharifs have stolen from Pakistan. It is the curse of the people of Pakistan which is incurable disease you are suffering from.
