ISLAMABAD: Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, chief of the Air Staff, while appreciating the performance of junior squash players for winning Asian junior championship, encou­r­aged them with cash prizes.

The Air Chief, who is also the president of Pakistan Squash Federation, rewarded the players, who won gold medal in the recent championship in Pattaya (Thailand), in a ceremony here at the Serena Hotel in the federal capital.

The Air Chief lauded the hard work put in by the coaching staff in providing international standard training and coaching facilities to the youngsters. He also praised the efforts of PSF in making concerted efforts for bringing back lost glory.

The national team, comprising of Farhan Hashmi, Abbas Zeb, Haris Qasim and Hamza Khan, performed remarkably to Pakistan this title after a gap of six years.

Sources said that the players were given Rs200,000 each for their outstanding performance in the said event.
