ISLAMABAD: Taking a magnificent start, defending champion Imran Shahzad comfortably won both matches on the opening day of Jubilee Insurance third Master’s National Snooker Championship here at the Pakistan Sports Complex on Thursday.

In his first match, Imran of Punjab outclassed Balochistan’s Abdul Rehman 3-0 (94-07(51), 57-46, 75-07(50). Imran overcame Islamabad’s Arshad Ali Qureshi 3-0 (65-31, 59-16, 60-37) in the second match.

Eighteen cueists of 40-plus age group are featuring in the four-day Master’s championship whose final will be staged on Sunday.
