QUETTA: The Customs Collectorate Quetta has posted a 26 per cent jump in its collection to Rs13 billion during the first half of this fiscal year.
Speaking at a seminar held to mark the International Custom Day on Saturday, Chief Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary said the department was taking steps to prevent smuggling of drugs, non-custom paid vehicles and prohibited edibles.
He said the installation of VVIP Box System in all bordering areas has been facilitating the traders in clearing their goods in short period of time.
