DERA MURAD JAMALI: The Inspector General of Balochistan Police, Mr Mohsin Butt, reviewed the law and order situation during his visit to Sibi and expressed satisfaction on the performance of the police. He said efforts were being made to train police personnel on modern lines.

The IG also held a meeting with tribal elders and journalists during the visit and informed them that the counter-terrorism department (CTD) had been set up in the province and soon it would have its offices in all districts of Balochistan.

He said objectives of setting up the CTD was to fight terrorism. The IG denied presence of Daesh-like terrorist organisation in the province, but said there was evidence that banned sectarian organisation Lashkar-i-Jhangvi was using the name of Daesh to carry out its terrorist activities.

Former chief minister Mir Jam Muhammad Khan Jamali, CTD DIG Aitzaz Goraya, Nasirabad Range DIG Rao Munir Ahmed Zia, SSP of Nasirabad Irfan Bashir and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
