KHAIRPUR: Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning hit Khairpur and Nawabshah districts at around 8pm on Wednesday. Villagers from Kingri taluka told journalists that the rain at this time of the year was likely to benefit standing wheat crop and banana orchards. There was heavy to moderate rainfall in Nawabshah and adjoining areas of Daur, Sakrand, Qazi Ahmed and other small towns, turning weather more chilly and pleasant.
