GUJRANWALA: A leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid and his gunman were shot dead over a property dispute on Wednesday.

Kashif Siddique was in his house at Wapda Town when Aamir, a younger brother of his son-in-law, along with his accomplices, came there and opened fire injuring Kashif and his gunman.

The injured were shifted to the DHQ Hospital and doctors referred them to Lahore’s Mayo Hospital, but they succumbed to injuries on the way.

The Saddar police registered a case against five people.

City Police Officer Dr Moeen Masood took notice of the incident and teams have been formed to arrest the culprits.

Kashif Siddique was released from jail in 2016 in a murder case of former PPP city president Chaudhry Khalid Hamayun. After his release he joined the PTI but just a few days ago, he joined the PML-Q.

TLP ACTIVISTS: The Kamoki police on Wednesday arrested 10 activists of the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) for blocking city chowk.

Saddar SP Muhammad Asif told journalists that they got information that a number of TLP activists had taken out a rally and were coming towards the city chowk in Kamoki to block it. A heavy contingent of police under the supervision of ASP Farooq Bajrani reached the spot and tried to stop the activists from doing so.

Police arrested Kashif, Waqas, Jahangir, Fakhar Iqbal, Muhammad Saad, Ghulam Haider, Waqas Khursheed and Hafiz Awais and others and shifted them to an unknown place.

ARRESTED: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) claimed to have arrested a man who killed his cousin in 2011.

Dr Moeen Masood told Dawn that the CIA got a clue that Ahsan who killed his cousin Saifullah seven years ago over a dispute had moved to Dubai. He said police had contacted Interpol for the arrest of Ahsan.
